Song is amazing! He is the most honest, kindest man ever! I don't know anything about cars and love having a mechanic on call that I fully trust! I encourage anyone to go to song you won't be disappointed! Thanks again song for all you do!!!

Mr. Song is awesome. I moved to Cali and was stressing over finding a good and honest auto shop and I found Mr Song. I couldn't have been more blessed to find such a nice mechanic that is great at his job. Go see Mr Song. He is an awesome mechanic and always very helpful.

Simply terrific service. Very reasonable prices. Very friendly. This is the kind of mechanic that you keep for life.

I dropped my car off at lunch time because my "low tire" light had came on the day before. Being an anxious and tiny girl I thought it was best to bring it in before I'm stranded on the freeway.

They looked busy when I came by but they still said they would take a look for me. They had it done and ready to go by the time I was off work.

$20 for a tire patching was not too bad! Just glad they didn't turn me away and I was able to drive home after work!

I price checked. This appears to be the most affordable shop in the area. Song and his team got the job done. Song is not fluent in English however he does take the time to explain what you should be doing with your car in person. It is slightly hard to understand over the phone.

I had been trying to get my car to pass a smog test for a long time. I had taken it to several mechanics - even the dealership - and no one could get the check engine light to turn off. I dropped off my car to Airport Auto Service and two days later I got a call back telling me that my car had successfully passed the smog test! He went above and beyond taking time to figure out exactly what the issue was and was upfront and honest with me about everything. It ended up not even costing that much to fix - he definitely didn't try to swindle me at all. He is very nice and professional. English is not his first language, so he can be a little bit difficult to understand at times, but he's very patient and willing to repeat himself if needed. I am very impressed and will be using this mechanic again in the future for any car needs I have.

Okay, this review is long overdue. I've been coming to Airport Auto for years now and I have got to say, Mr. Song is probably the last honest mechanic in the country. The mechanics are not there to rip you off or nickel and dime you to death. They are quick, honest and hardworking. They do not play games with you to bring you back constantly like other service centers do, and they will not play dumb. Genuinely really great people and I will always trust their words over any dealership or chain.

Good service attitude, first-class technology! Reasonable charges, highly recommended!

I moved to OC for college and I was looking for a reliable mechanic for all my car needs... so happy I came across this place and Song... so affordable and song is understanding. I have the utmost confidence that they will do the job well and honestly. 10/10 will recommend.

I am extremely thankful for the great prompt service on my breaks and lights. I'm so glad my friend recommended this place to me for my Mercedes ML350. They are honest and reliable. What I was quoted almost a grand elsewhere only cost me a few hundred here. Don't get ripped off elsewhere. They are extremely reliable and honest at Airport Auto.

I have been coming to Aiport Auto for 10 years now and have found Mr. Song and his team to be completely reliable and able to get to the bottom of all of my car issues. How I found them in the first place is that my 14-year old Nissan at the time started having major problems. I spent considerable time and energy at the dealership, replacing radiator, water pump, and other major parts, costing me $$$$. When my car broke down again after my third visit to the dealership in two months, a friend suggested I take my car to Mr. Song. He and his team figured out that the problem was with a freeze plug that needed replacement. It's a relatively inexpensive part but hard to get to. The dealership obviously didn't even bother and chose to work around the problem, replacing unnecessary parts!! After Mr. Song changed out the broken freeze plug, my car was fixed! Mr. Song's prices are very fair and he takes the time to explain and educate me on whatever issue is at hand. I appreciate that very much and highly recommend this shop to others.

My old car (a Nissan Sentra 2002) was always developing problems. Because the car had been driven in East Coast, it had a lot of rust and the various mechanics always quoted me high price for labor. I have been visiting Mr. Song for more than two years now and his service has always been satisfactory at a fair price. Mr. Song is always honest about what work could wait and what work I should prioritize and I never felt that I was being taken advantage of. I highly recommend this shop for the good advice, good turnaround time and fair prices. If you live in the area and are looking for an honest mechanic whose opinion and advice you can trust for any kind of repair or service , this is the place to go.

Awesome service, very friendly, looked at my car gave me an estimate without even charging me.

Song was such a blessing to find! Had to leave my car with him for a day and 1/2, and he even offered me a ride to work. He was very thorough, showing me parts and pieces that needed repair, and all the repaired items after it was fixed. I've never had such an honest and thorough experience with a mechanic. His rates seemed quite normal or even lower than average, with no confusing fees or surprises added at the end. I'm no longer fearful of taking my car in by myself, wondering if I'll be mislead. I highly recommend Airport Auto and Song for any of your automotive services needs!

My sister and I have been coming to Mr. Song for over 20 year, my mom before that, I trust him so much, he always make sure we get the best services without costing too much. he is like a father figure to my sister and I. it is little out of the way but we would never go anywhere else for a mechanic. now that my sons are be driving, I know they will only goto Mr. Song for their cars, just hope he won't retire anytime soon because we would be completely lost without him!

I has strange noise from front passenger wheel. I called Mr. Song first to see if he was available. He was alone and working on a car already, but he offered to check my car. When I drove in, he greeted me with a great smile and immediately checked my car. After spending 15 min, he identified the problem within the tire and recommended to check with my tire store. His diagnosis was accurate as I found small rubber balls inside the tire. He was very sincere and accurate. No forced sales! I have been his customer for past 14 years and always recommend him for any repair work! Thank you Mr. Song!

I always run my car to the ground before getting a replacement. That being said, I have been to a lot of different mechanics multiple towns across this fine state. Never and I mean NEVER have I met a more genuine and stand up guy like Mr. Song. "The honest mechanic" is in most bios nowadays but this guy doesn't need any of the frills. He breaks it down to you and also goes through the most cost effective way to fix the vehicle. I had an issue with my car that was super unique and hard to diagnose that he even drove my car to the dealer himself to see if they have seen anything like this before. My car was basically shutting off after a certain mph and it took him 3 days and a visit to Honda to deduce it to the Oil control switch. He kept me posted every step of the way and even test drove it on the freeway. I have to say, he treated my car like it was his own where most people would have charged the diagnostics and other fees only to tell me they couldn't figure it out in order to churn through as many vehicles as possible. He even gave me the part and said that if it starts acting up again and I have to take it elsewhere to show them the part he replaced in case they try to say that was still the problem. I have another issue with my alternator and the guy is on top of it. He was clowning ME because he couldn't reach me on MY cell. I have had a lot of experience where it is super hard to get an update on my vehicle so that's refreshing.

A lot of the other reviews do mention a language barrier which didn't really bother me. Actually, I give it up to the guy as I can imagine that due to the area, the privileged and selective hearing group is liable to throw some shade. Let the haters hate Mr. Song and don't change a thing OG.

Song is a great, hard-working man. He is honest, fair in pricing, and overall just a great guy. My entire family goes to him for car maintenance, and we've never once had any problems. My car is in great shape, thanks to him! This is definitely the place you want to go if you need work done on your car, even if it's just a simple oil change.

    Thank goodness for Song!

I had taken my car to get my belts replaced at another mechanics this past Saturday 3/26/16. I live in Orange, but work in Newport -- less than a mile from this shop. As I was driving to my office, I heard an unsafe noise coming from my engine. After consulting with my friend and my dad, they suggested not to drive as it was extremely unsafe.

I really wanted to take my car back to the mechanics that messed it up in the first place, but I'm glad I didn't. I love checking Yelp, so I was happy to see this shop was nearby and also highly rated. I immediately knew why everyone rants and raves about Song.

He was extremely kind and extremely helpful. He explained every procedure that was needed and why it was needed. I never once felt like he was being that stereotypical mechanic that is just trying to up-sell. He even explained what went wrong with my car after taking it to the other mechanics.

After removing the engine and figuring out exactly what was wrong, he quoted me a price that was fair for what was needed. Turns out the belt installed by the other mechanics caused damage to my alternator and the bracket connecting the belt to the alternator. The price was steep, but reasonable and fair for the procedure. I asked him if he thought my Acura would be able to go by a few more years if we fixed this problem, or if I should just dump it and try to buy a new one. He told me straight up my engine is fine, just needed this one fix.

He called me as soon as he was done the next day. He showed me all the old parts that he removed, showing exactly what went wrong and why it needed to be exchanged. I even ended up having to pay a little less than what he quoted -- awesome! I felt like my car was in great hands, and definitely will be returning anytime I ever have another car issue.

This place does a great job repairing your car and it's all done very quickly. I had my oil changed, engine checked, and tires changed all within an hour. Everyone is very nice and knowledgable here. Highly recommend it

Found out my tire had a huge nail today and started to leak air. I was down to 26 psi (normal 37) found this awesome shop by the John Wayne airport and drove in for immediate service by this Asian mechanic, Song.

He attended to me right away and quoted me $20 repair fee, with lifetime warranty on this plug. In and out in 20 mins. All the other places I saw on Yelp were closed at 5pm.

Thank goodness for this spot!!! Definitely recommend t

Being new to CA, it was important to me to find a good, trustworthy repair shop. Song has been very good to me and I trust him completely. When my son's SUV broke down here while on a visit over a holiday weekend from AZ, Song fixed it and got my son and his family back on the road home. Song even gave us a list of things to have looked at when my son got back home and told us to think about replacing the tires soon. Song knew I was worried about my son's family. I am a forever customer!

Great service at Airport Auto, make sure you talk to Mr. Song. Even though the shop was full, he went out of his way to get my car in for a quick oil change. Pricing was good, and it felt better having it done by a trained mechanic instead of an hourly wage dude at one of those quick oil change places, totally worth the extra 10 minutes. No upsell, no waving around a dirty air filter in my face, and Mr. Song is totally the nicest mechanic I've ever met. He even turned on the heater so I wouldn't be cold in the office while I waited. My sister has also been by several times and reported much of the same. Can't go wrong with Airport Auto, although it's not the biggest shop so it's possible to catch them at a busy moment like I did and need to wait a few minutes.

I'm somewhat handy, but have started taking my old Toyota pickup in more often since I've started my 'career' at a desk job. I know my way around a mechanic shop, and feel that Song is the most honest mechanic I've known. He called once to tell me the part I wanted changed was not broken, and he didn't want to charge me for changing a perfectly fine part. He also has the guts to say "ya, it could be repaired, but it isn't urgent, and not necessary". Hats off to such a guy. He could be taking money in from all sorts of unsuspecting people, but doesn't. When people ask "who's your mechanic?" I tell them where to go, and that I trust Song 100%. His accent is thick, but be patient and you'll find a good man.

Song was awesome. The front end of my car was making noise. I dropped the care off and Song figured out the problem in an hour. He fixed the problem and had the car ready in a few hours. It was a lot cheaper than what the dealer would have charged me. He is a great mechanic and does what is right for people. I won't hesitate to go back there.

  • *****

Song is the best. Not only does he do good work, he only does what is necessary and any minor fixes he will throw in for free. I bring my car to him even for minor work like oil changes and such just because I love to give him my business. He is the best!!

We use Song at Airport Auto Repair, too. He was $400 less expensive than a quote I got from Chevron on a break repair. Very honest guy. He is my mechanic going forward, even though it is bit farther drive for me to use him.

Airport auto repair is the best shop around. Song is friendly, helpful and always gives the best deal. I highly recommend Airport Auto Repair if you need help with your car.

My mom's manual pontiac has had stick problems since she drove it off the lot in 2003. She has maybe gone through 3 clutches, and it has never shifted very well. Well the clutch went out right after switching cars with her so I can do a road trip. Needless to say, I couldn't do the road trip, but I took it to Song and he fixed it to better than it was when my mom first got it. It has no problems shifting now, which is a first, and it costed about a third of the price each of the last 3 times my mom had the clutch replaced. I highly recommend Song and airport auto.

  • *****

Song did a fantastic job on my mini van at a very reasonable price.  My mechanic that I have been going to for years wanted $925 for new front breaks and a new valve that made my check engine light go on.  Song did it for $500 including taxes plus showed me the parts he replaced.

I even had my coolant fuse blow while he was testing my breaks causing coolant to spill all over my engine causing massive steam when driven.  He cleaned my whole engine and fixed the small part that broke for $7!  Amazing.

His English is not perfect, but it gets the job done and he is a really nice guy.

Guys: Song is amazing. I searched Yelp for an oil change near me and actually came up with the garage directly across the way from Airport Auto Service, but when I got there, they were busy (no problem, I didn't have an appointment) and also pretty dismissive. Did not like that.

So I walked across the alley to Song's place, he said he could take me right away, and I happily waited 20 minutes while he got down to business. When he brought me my keys back, he causally mentioned that I might need my back break pads changed an a tune up soon--both of which are true--but in no way pushed me to have those done right now. He quoted me a reasonable price and even vacuumed my front mats, which were...let's just say in bad shape.

Song was BEYOND sweet and completely trustworthy. I'm coming back for those break pads ASAP.

I would like to enthusiastically recommend Mr. Song at Airport Auto Service.  I ask Seri for the closest auto services near my work.  She gave me 10 places.  Three were dealerships which I stay away from because of their cost.  Mr. Song's place was the only one of the 10 that had an excellent rating.  I called and he accommodated the time I needed for an appointment.  I thought I needed a break job, an oil change and a tune-up. Also, the last place I took it to--a Goodyear Tire Store, they had stripped the lug bolt,  Mr Song  has a small two stall garage, very near to Orange County Air port and about one third of a mile from my work.  He said that he would look at it and call me to tell me what I needed.  I was pleasantly  surprised when he offered to take me to work, without me asking.  He called me in an hour and told me what it would cost just to replace the breaks, , but recommended that I also replace the calipers if iI wanted a smooth stop and was going to keep the van for a while.  He told me the cost which I thought was very reasonable for both the repair and the oil change. He asked me why I felt I needed a tune up, and I explained that the computer said I was getting about 3 miles per gallon less than usual.  He explained that using air conditioning could cause that, and that it appeared to be running fine.

He called promptly at 4:00 and again offered to come and get me.  He showed me the parts that he replaced.  He told me that he replaced the lug nut with one he had around and there would be no charge.  (I had been quoted $40 by another garage for replacing it).  I was extremely pleased with his service, knowledge, attitude and honesty,  and will be using him for the rest of my life.

Song will treat you right. I have been going to him for over 15 years.

I started using him after one of those chain oil change places told me that I needed $250 in repairs and someone referred me to him. He checked it out and said that the repairs were not needed. They were basically trying to rip me off. Since then, he has taken good care of my family's vehicles. He will let you know when something is going bad and tell you whether it needs to be repair now or can wait.

I cannot stress enough that he is a GOOD man. I would trust him with anything. Do yourself a favor and make him your family's auto repairman.

I have taken my car to Song for oil changes and bigger things, and he runs a professional operation. Once, I asked for a repair that would have cost more than the car is worth, and he didn't speculate a price. He simply said "We'll keep the car running as long as you need, but that work would cost too much for this car."

I have 02 VW Golf with over 200k miles, and my wife has an 00 Toyota Camry with nearly 300k. Song has helped us keep both of these up and running and reasonably reliable.

I really appreciate the helpfulness and honesty. I would recommend this place.

I would take off half a star if that was an option. The reason is that Song doesnt exactly speak the best english and a couple times its' been difficult to explain exactly what I need him to check out and fix, especially over the phone. But it's not really that big of a problem, so dont let that deter you.

Updated: Took in my MINI cooper for a mysterious 'clunk'. Song had the car up on the lift in 5 minutes trying to get me an estimate put together. I left 30 minutes later, because I needed the car the next day. He didn't charge me a dime. I dropped it off the next morning, (this is where I got really impressed) he had the parts arrive that same day, replaced only what was needed and had it ready by 5pm. The estimate was spot on, and I never had to call to get a status on the repairs.

We discussed an oil leak, and he said it wasn't bad enough to spend $500 fixing it. I asked him if anything else might need attention, he said he looked it over and that it's a good car.

I left with a sound running car, and I sleep easy because Song said there's nothing to worry about. I told him I will see him again just as soon as the car breaks again.

  • *****

Song is the most honest man in the world. I don't even know how he stays in business, because he is too nice to be what you would normally think of as a "businessman."

I've been taking my cars, my parents cars, sending my friends cars here for 10+ years. I've never felt conned, tricked, or dissatisfied with the work here.

Song will tell you exactly what is wrong with your car and then tell you whether he thinks you can hold off on a repair or you should get it done now. There is NEVER a sales pitch.

I know he can't stay in business forever, but I wish he could. I dread taking my car to somewhere else. Do yourself a favor and try it. Trust me.

    Song is a good guy.

He's a little tough to understand on the phone, but he has the honesty to say: "ya, it's broken, but you don't need it fixed right away".

I took my pickup in and told him to change a pulley that had torn itself apart. He called me 30 minutes later and said it was fine. I told him to trust me, and remove the belts. He was patient with me; the other shops would have said "what does he know?" He called me back 30 more minutes later and had a full estimate and gave me a very clear idea of what it would take to change it. (There's a reason I didn't do it myself) I trust the guy so much that I said "change the oil too Song", which I haven't had somebody besides myself do in years.

His estimate was spot on, and it he mentioned an oil leak. He gave me a good estimate, but didn't give me the whole "you'd better not drive on it" crap that I would get at PepBoys.

    I trust Song. 100%

There's nothing like hearing, "You shouldn't worry about your car, he's a good christian man," as you wait to get your oil changed. The woman next to me couldn't stop raving about Mr. Kibok, how she's been a satisfied customer for years, how her sister can't get her car fixed anywhere else. I got a quick oil change here for less than $28, and after he was finished, Mr. Kibok told me that I needed new break pads. No pressure, no sales pitch, no bs. The shop takes care of both domestic and imports, general repairs, and tires. Try to come on weekdays because weekends usually means long lines for this place (I'd say call in before paying a visit). There's free coffee in the office/waiting room, and if you can read Korean you're in for a treat. Trust your mechanic: trust Mr. Kibok.

  • *****

This place is unparalleled. I worked on cars for years in high school and early college and learned to spot BS from mechanics pretty quick. You will get none here. My wife is clueless about cars and Song has treated her with honesty, graciousness, an respect for years. Highly recommended. Thank you, Song!

I've been coming to airport auto for a while now and I agree with the other reviewers when they say the mechanics here are very honest and helpful. I drive all the way from Torrance to get check ups and repair work done because I trust Mr. Song. He's by far the best mechanic out there!!!

Mr. Song operates his auto repair shop with the highest degree of integrity and respect for his customers. When I commented on how well I felt I had been treated, he simply said it was part of his culture. For as long as I'm living in Orange County, I'll only be taking my car to Airport Auto Services.

    *Update*
    Trip #2:
I drive an older car, and the model is infamously known as the worst car Chrysler has ever made. Upon seeing the torrent of coolant being exorcised from underneath my flaming trash-heap of a car, I knew it was time to take it back to Mr. Song at Airport Auto Service. He quickly diagnosed the problem and quoted me a very fair price. I'm already mourning the day I have to leave Orange County.

  • *****

The place is a little hard to find if you haven't been there before. It's kind of in the back of this parking lot. Just pull in when you see the address and you'll see it.

As the other reviews suggest, the guy who runs this place, Mr. Song, is as honest as it gets. My car was feeling sluggish and I don't know anything about cars so I took it in here for an inspection. He found out what was wrong with it but explained to be that it's not really a big deal and I don't need to replace it for about 5,000 miles, instead of trying to sell it to me right then, as many mechanics would have done. Then, on top of that, he didn't even charge me for the inspection.

The guy is a class act and I fully intend to take my car back to him in the future.

My 2004 Nissan Pathfinder had a transmission fluid leak so I took it to the nearest repair shop which happened to be this one.

Song is a great guy. He is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and honest. He put my car up on the lift and told me what was wrong and told me that the gasket had to be replaced. He was honest and straightforward with the service needed to be done and didn't try to upsell anything, something mechanics are notorious for.

The price was fair and the service was fast. I am a happy customer and have found my regular mechanic.

I just had my Alternator ($189 part, $90 labor) and my EGR Pressor sensor ($139 parts $110 labor) replaced on a 99 for F150. I paid a total of $553 for this in all. I went home after and priced it out and found Alternators for 75 dollars, and EGRs for 45. So I would say that he over charged me about 200 dollars. I will take my business else where as all of you who read this should as well. I am very dissapointed since a friend recommended him to me.

Was referred to this garage from a friend. I now use this place for my BMW. I got tired of BMW authorized & especially the dealership garages charging me so much. I found them very trustworthy, and don't have problems paying for good labor, long as it is fixed the first time.

Song at Airport Auto has taken excellent care of all of my cars for the past 15 years. Through the years I tried to use other mechanics out of convenience (I was living out of the area for a few years), and found that I was never treated with as much hoensty and fair pricing as Song has always given me. In my opinion, Song is the best mechanic around and anyone who uses him will not only be rewarded with excellent communication about what is going on with thier car, they will also rest assured that they are getting the best price in town. Signed, A very happy Airport Auto customer - Liz, Huntington Beach CA

I had a good experience with Airport Auto Repair today.  I got a fair price and what seems to be quality work.  I have been getting my cars repaired for 25 years and I feel like I can tell when someone is truly trying to help and when they are just trying to make money.  Song (the boss) just wanted to figure out what my car needed and didn't really worry about price until it was decided that the repair was needed.  He doesn't seem to be there to pretend to be your friend, just to make your car run the way it should.  What a great place to get an honest, fair job done on your car!

I will take my cars to Airport Auto Repair again and I will recommend to all my friends.
